My first aim as a teacher is to develop a positive mentoring relationship with the student based
on mutual trust and respect.
I also want to teach music holistically, believing that there are many life lessons to be learned in
the discipline of music study.
I commit myself to practicing patience with my students, realizing that they have many things
to teach me.
I believe that strong technique is essential to playing the piano, and should always be rooted in the desire for musical expression at the keyboard.
As I teach, I strive to tailor my teaching to best
meet the needs of each individual student, believing that equipping them to understand, appreciate, and express music for the rest of their life is the best gift I can give them.
